Vendetta online missions1/14/2024 "Premium Subscription" ($10/month) allows play on PC, or any platform, without ever having to worry about secondary "crystal" currency again, and also opens up some end-game content, like manufacturing your own capital ships.Įventually, we intend to have a simpler hybrid business mode, with F2P and subscriptions available across all platforms. 20% of the purchase price goes back to supporting Itch.io. Usually, the Lite Subscription must be purchased In Game on an actual mobile device (Android, Amazon, iOS), but in this case the Itch.io price includes 6-months of "Lite" mode, applicable to any account (new or existing) and usable on any combination of platforms. "Lite Subscription" ($1/month) allows "Free to Play" style gaming on PC, (albeit, obviously not entirely for free). There is currently a level cap for "F2P", although our game is driven far more by player-skill than "character level", and much of the best equipment is available under the cap. There is no time limit on playing, but there are micro-transactions for the secondary currency, which can also be earned through gameplay activity. Mobile is Free To Play: this means Android, iOS, Amazon, Gear VR and Daydream, on tablet, phone or AndroidTV. Despite the age of the title, all engine technology is developed in-house, and has been constantly upgraded over the years, so a modern GPU is recommended for the best visuals, especially for VR (the attached YouTube trailer is several years old, and a bit graphically out of date).Īn active relationship between the developers and the player-base is maintained on our forums, and the game is patched with updates roughly every week or two. The game has been live online since early 2002. This unique MMO has been created and constantly evolved by Guild Software, a tiny company of only four people, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The game offers a single persistent galaxy for all platforms, and players may transition between platforms and device types seamlessly.Ī complex and nuanced backstory adds to the depth of immersion, resulting in a unique online experience. This MMO permits thousands of players to interact as the pilots of spaceships in a vast universe. And if Yoda (or whomever) have more feedback on the general mission architecture, this should probably be broached (or re-broached) on Suggestions.Vendetta Online is an indie 3D space-combat MMORPG for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS, as well as the Oculus Rift, Gear VR and Daydream VR. But there will be a big general-UI redux, we all know that it's needed.Īnyway, we will take a look at improving this remote/local problem, probably next week. It would be dumb to completely redo the interface right now, when half the new features are missing and the usage patterns haven't yet stabilized. I am still pretty happy that we have remote missions working now, and where we're headed with this and user-posted missions and the like. On a general level, I don't hold up the mission system as any paragon of perfection, it is a version of something midway between "what we thought we wanted" and "what we now want" with various bits and pieces bolted on in the meantime. That said, we should definitely improve the remote/local aspect and help clarify things for people. So, in regards to the way we present the game and the quantity of content to new people, yes, this is "newbie friendly". However, the biggest problem we had with newbies was a perceived lack of content, which remote-missions help, since you're no longer limited to seeing only the mission content at the current station. The remote missions certainly make things more complex, and therefore a little more confusing (which, hey, we can improve via solutions like the many presented in this thread). "Newbie friendly" has a lot of different meanings. And you guys know this so why expand on it before improvement? Meh. Who the **** are you taking your recent "newb friendly" ideas from? This new seeing missions everywhere is more harder to explain, and to be frank, the mission system as is sucks balls.
